What Remains
What Remains is a public art project creating free papel picado portraits and downloadable templates for vigils, protests, memorials, and community use.
This work emerges from an ongoing exploration of how the body holds memory, solitude, and tenderness. In this piece, a bedroom scene is interrupted by a an oversized bird that takes shape in dense embroidery, its mass conveying both weight and softness. The figure’s posture and the tactile quality of the embroidery hint at exhaustion, surrender, and the comfort of being enveloped.
